Funding

The Costume Society of America supports members with a variety of grants supporting scholarship, travel and dependent care.

Surface Design supports the creative growth of SDA members. Surface Design Association grants fund regional exhibitions and events as well as personal development projects.

The United Institute of Theatre Technology has rotating funding opportunities that support travel, research and innovation. Grants are offered based on available funding at the discretion of our Research Activities Committee.

Teams of creative artists are invited biennially to devise production concepts for specific works from the inherited or American repertoire. Winning teams present their designs to producers throughout the industry in the Director-Designer Showcase at the national Opera Conference.

These organizations are but a few that promote opportunities for peer-reviewed scholarship.
